Year 1  Finch and Sparrow

Good morning Finch and Sparrow class. 

 

 

This week we are looking at the story The Snail and The Whale.  Like last week there is a grid of different activities to choose from and please send us some of the brilliant work you are doing. In the documents below there is also further maths activities.

 

Below is a grid with lots of ideas of the things you could do about this story. We have provided a date for some activities as these will be covered in school on this date. So if you are learning from home please you this to guide which lessons to cover.

Phonics 

Year One phonics

 For phonics this week please continue to use the phonics pots that you created last week the guide to set them up and templates are below. This week we are going to focus on the 'ee' sound family and explore the different ways we can write the ee sound. 

Monday 

Today look at the ee grapheme (phase 3). How many words can you write this this sound in. Now have a go at reading some real or nonsense in the Obb and Bob game below. Finally see if you can read the sentences.

Tuesday

Today look at the ey grapheme (phase 5). How many words can you write this sound in. Now have a go at reading some real or nonsense in the Obb and Bob game below. Finally see if you can read the sentences.

Wednesday 

Today look at the e-e split digraph (phase 5). How many words can you write this sound in. Now have a go at reading some real or nonsense in the Obb and Bob game below. Finally see if you can read the sentences.

Thursday 

Today look at ea digraph (phase 5). How many words can you write with an ea sound in. Now have a go at reading some real or nonsense in the Obb and Bob game below. Finally see if you can read the sentences.

Friday

Today you are going to investigate the ee sound family. There are three different activities with the investigation on phonics play. Please login to Phonic Play before clicking the link below.

You can use some of the games on the Phonicsplay website, e.g Buried Treasure, to practise reading words with the phonemes in them.
