Safeguarding
Eldene Nursery and Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website or by following the link below.

If staff have concerns about the welfare of a child they will complete a form on a secure online management system called CPOMS and alert the safeguarding team. Appropriate action will then be taken by the team.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
A written record of any concern will be kept on file and shared with other safeguarding professionals as necessary. Written records will be transferred to the children's new schools when they leave Eldene. Copies will not be kept.
Our designated safeguarding lead (DSL) is Mrs Heather Kellett (Headteacher) and the deputy DSL is Mrs Jayne Peer (Family Support Advisor).
Our Nominated Safeguarding governor is Mrs Menyee Doyle and our Chair of Governors is Mrs Jo Milsom.
