As a Governing Body we are required to ensure that we have adequate skills amongst our members to fulfil our role of challenging and supporting the school. In order to meet this requirement we maintain a skills matrix of our current members so that we can make use of specific skills and identify training needs as required.

The Eldene Nursery and Primary School Governing Body wishes all parents and the wider Eldene community to understand that we celebrate and encourage diversity . You will notice that we are now displaying a logo on our Governor page to show our intent.

We recognise that the Eldene community is so fortunate to have a wide range of cultures, religions and outlooks and know that by having a diverse range of skills, life expectations and perspectives it makes our governing body stronger. It’s an assurance to all those in our school community that the board values diverse governance and is doing all it can to make governance as robust as possible.

We would like to encourage anyone who would like to become a Governor to contact the school so that we explain the role of Governance to you.
