As you know, all the children clen their teeth in school now because of this scheme.

Here is a link to the website and some videos you might want to use at home to help encourage your child to brush their teeth at home.

 TERM 6

This term we are going to finding out all about living things. We hope the weather is lovely and we can be out and about in our woodland as much as possible. We are going to look at minibeasts, plants and also at other places in the world and what it's like to live there. Here are some more details about what we will be doing and the homework sheet for the term.

Term 5

In Term 5 we learnt all about different forms of transport. We found out about what happens to the cars travelling down a ramp when you change the steepness or the surface of the ramp. We looked at photos of old and new cars to see if we could spot similarities and differences.

We found out what floats and what sinks and thought about how a boat floats on water. We made paper aeroplanes and helicopters and had great fun flying them. We had a competition to see whose plane flew the furthest and the winners are below!

We also went to Coate Water to ride on the miniature train. The lovely volunteers there once again gave up their time for free and took us all around the circuit twice. Going through the tunnel was exciting and very noisy!

Term 4

On red nose day, we could all add a little more red to our uniform and we did some work on the number bonds to 10 using red noses!

When we were telling the story of Goldilocks and the Three bears, we just had to try some porridge. Most of us enjoyed eating the porridge and the most popular topping was honey. Some of us had seconds. We thought a lot about all the things that Goldilocks did that were really very naughty and about how she could show the bears that she was really sorry.

We had a lot of fun telling the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We went on a troll hunt to Shaftesbury Lake and found troll poo as well as a letter from the troll.

We built bridges with all the things we could find in the bay. We had to think about the fact that things need to be able to go over and under a bridge.

The second week of term was really busy with World Book Day, visiting Grandparents and a visiting theatre group who told us the story of The Gingerbread Man.

We had a fabulous day on World Book Day and read a lot of stories. Here we are all dressed up. Well done to all our families.

We had great fun decorating (and eating!) gingerbread men biscuits when the grandparents came to visit.

We  did an experiment to find out which biscuit got soggiest the quickest. We had a look at the biscuits and predicted which one we thought would get soggy first. A lot of people thought the chocolate digestive would because of the chocolate or the shortbread, because it has holes. We put the biscuits in the same amount of water at the same time. We found out that the gingernut biscuit and the digestive biscuit got very soggy very quickly and the shortbread took a much longer time to get soggy. No wonder the gingerbread man was so worried about crossing the river!

And the SUN has been shinning and we have had a lot of fun playing, inside and out!

This term we are going to have a lot of fun telling stories. Have a look at all the things we will be doing below. The homework sheet is also here. It would be lovely to see some homework from the Robins this term.

 Term 3

In Term 3 we learnt about our bodies, our senses and how we keep our bodies healthy. We also thought about how we change and grow and we learnt how to talk about what has happened in our past. We then thought about the long ago past and things that people did differently.

We read the book 'Funny Bones' and learnt about how our bones hold us up, help us to move and protect us.

We had a close look at our faces and drew a self-portrait.

We have been busy writing sentences.

We looked at different things that people used in the home in the past and had a go at drawing them.

We have had a lot of fun playing too!

 OUR NATIVITY

TERM 2

In Term 2 we learnt all about festivals.

We hammered golf tees into pumpkins to help our fine motor skills for hallow'een and decorated cup cakes when we were thinking about how we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.

We had great fun lighting sparklers and writing poems about fireworks. Each class wrote a poem together and we performed them to each other with actions!

We have also learnt about Diwali. We made Diya lamps from clay and drew Rangoli patterns on our playground.

When we learnt about Hannukah we learnt a dance that we all did in a circle. Here is a link if you fancy having a go.

Then we learnt about Christmas. We have had great fun in school decorating our Christmas Trees for the tree festival and putting on our Christmas Nativity. We have also made a herd of reindeer!

We also enjoyed the snow although everyone was very disappointed that it didn't settle!

Here is some of the lovely homework our children did in Term 1.

Here are some photos of us all settling in during Term 1 and having fun learning to play together.
