Welcome to the Chaffinch Class page. Here you will find information about what we will be learning each term, useful documents and educational games. Ms Dacre and Mrs Lowe are the class teachers and Miss Gillard is the Teaching Assistant.
We are a mixed class of Year 1's and Year 2's and we are looking forward to a fantastic year together!
Term 5
This terms topic is: Muck, mess and mixtures! We hope all the children have a great time.
Farm trip
We had the most amazing time at the farm. We fed lambs, ponies and piglets. We watch a truck get filled with wheat grain and even made our own bread from the wheat grain! We are currently trying to convince Mrs Pellew that we need two lambs for our field each spring!

World book day:
We had a great day celebrating everything books on World book day. They children looked great in their costumes and had a lovely time. We created new book covers that we've put up in the infant library, went on a book hunt and so many other things.

Science week
We have been celebrating British science week this week and have had a lovely time. We have taken part in lots of different experiments and workshops.

Number day
We have had a great day celebrating everything number. We've played board games, read lots of number based books and even made number hats. Together we read the door bell rang and tried to share our cookies like in the books and we read ten little dinosaurs then worked on our number pairs to 10 and 20. We also had a go at an online quiz together!

Term 1
RAWR!!! Our first topic this year is dinosaur planet. We cannot wait to see what all the children are capable of this term. Watching them create new friendships is always lovely to see.

We have had a great start to the year and have really got stuck into our learning. We have been learning about Mary Anning, the continents and different plants as well as so much more.
Fire safety
This term, we attended a fire safety assembly. It was lots of fun and include some great tips about how to stay safe. We learn lots about how to ensure our homes are safe from fires and what to do or what not to do. Also, we looked at a firefighters uniform and learnt how to test a smoke alarm.
